The weather was awful. It rained most of the day, not to mention that it was chilly. Both the High Jump and the Pole Vault were moved indoors (thankfully). However, those that competed outside were not as lucky.
As fate would have it, many of those competing did poorly because of the weather. However, there were still some great things to be said about the meet overall. Mitch Supan had a new Personal Best in the shot by 2 ft. and the sprinters did work. Kaylan placed 1st in the 100m dash, the Men's 4x100m relay placed 1st even without 3rd leg, Josiah Holt. Nicole Christener finished 2nd in the 100m hurdles and ran under 16 seconds for the first time ever. Congratulations, Nicole!
One thing that we need to keep in mind is that it is meets like this one when we find out what each of us is truly capable of. Not letting circumstances affect how you perform, supporting your teammates even when you have to get wet to do it, or just enjoying the moment. Something can be done to make yourself or others around you better at all times. Be there for each other. Create memories. Build relationships. Have fun.
